Man Hijacks Police Car to Flee from Cops

A man taken into police custody managed to slip into the front of a patrol car, leading police on a chase which ended in an officer-involved shooting.

EDMOND, Oklahoma -- A man taken into police custody managed to slip into the front of a patrol car, leading police on a chase which ended in an officer-involved shooting.

 Todd Heinen was pulled over Monday evening for speeding, but was also found to be driving with a suspended license. The Edmond Police officers handcuffed the 29-year-old and placed him in the back of their police car.

Heinen was able to slip into the front of the police car and fled the scene, leading police on a chase through on Broadway Extension in Edmond.

During the pursuit, police shot at Heinen, hitting him in his hand.

The chase ended under an overpass at Memorial Road and Broadway Extension.

Both of the officers who shot at Heinen were placed on routine administrative leave.
