Downtown Diner is located in the heart of Weatherford's downtown. They're best known for delicious burgers and their retro style. Join us on June 24th for some burgers and a good time.

  • The town of Weatherford was established in 1898. By late 1898, Weatherford had 8 lumberyards, 15 wagon yards, 14 saloons and 5 dance halls. Our community had a reputation as the roughest and wildest town in western Oklahoma Territory!
  • In 1901 Mangum, Mountain View and Granite vied with Weatherford to become home to Southwestern Normal School (now Southwestern Oklahoma State University). With the outcome favorable to Weatherford, the institution celebrated its centennial in 2001. SWOSU has one of the top Pharmacy Schools in the nation! It is now also the home to the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribal College.
  • We have the longest stretch of "Main Street" on Route 66.
  • Weatherford is said to be the windiest city in Oklahoma with average windspeeds of around 12-13 miles per hour!
