TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Glory Johnson scored 14 of her 15 points in the second half and had 11 rebounds to help the Tulsa Shock beat the Chicago Sky 79-69 yesterday. Tulsa had just 11 field goals and four assists through the game's first 27 minutes. The Shock made 13 field goals on 11 assists over the game's final 13 minutes. Allie Quigley and Epiphanny Prince each scored 14 points for the Sky.
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - John Jaso drove in three runs as the Oakland Athletics beat the Texas Rangers 9-3 last night. Jaso had a run-scoring single during Oakland's five-run second inning and added a two-run double in the fifth. Miles Mikolas allowed seven earned runs on seven hits and four walks in 4 2-3 innings.
OXNARD, Calif. (AP) - Dez Bryant is going into the final season of his rookie contract with the potential of a big pay day looming. Bryant says he "can't be selfish" by worrying about a new contract. The player who refused to carry Roy Williams' shoulder pads in his first training camp with the Cowboys says there won't be any rookie hazing of receivers in California.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Pedro Morales scored on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute to help the Vancouver Whitecaps tie FC Dallas 2-2 yesterday. Darren Mattocks opened the scoring for Vancouver in the 11th minute with his fifth goal of the season and third in three game. Dallas is 3-0-3 in its last three games.
