CHOCTAW, Oklahoma -- Who was William B. Flippen? Choctaw resident Charles White would like to know.

"I have wondered where he may have lived, you know, what kind of life he may have lived," White said.

White's curiosity was piqued after he found a tombstone bearing Flippen's name and the span of his life. Years of exposure to the elements have taken their toll on the tombstone, but enough remains to show that Flippen was born in March 1860 and died in September sometime in the 1890's.

White would like to return the tombstone to Flippen's descendants, but his research on the Internet has so far come up short.
